About Cultivate Health

Cultivate Health is built on a simple belief: your health deserves the same warmth and personal attention you would expect from a trusted friend who happens to be a nurse. We write for adults 18 and older — from young adults navigating their first primary care visits to older adults managing chronic conditions and everything in between.

This blog is the beginning of something I have been building toward for years.

Who I Am

Alexis Taylor is a nursing professional from Savannah, Georgia — a city known for its warmth, its beauty, and its deep sense of hospitality. She brings that same warmth to everything she does in nursing. Alexis is completing her Nurse Practitioner training with a focus on adult and geriatric primary care. She thrives in high-acuity clinical environments and is building Cultivate Health to provide patients with the kind of personal, relationship-based care that is increasingly rare in modern medicine.

Why I Started This Blog

The longer I spend in healthcare, the more I notice a gap. Patients come in with questions they have been carrying for months — questions they did not know how to ask, or did not feel they had time to ask, or were too intimidated to bring up. They leave with prescriptions and discharge papers but not always with understanding.

Cultivate Health exists because an informed patient is a healthier patient. When you understand what your blood pressure numbers actually mean, why your doctor is recommending a particular screening, or what warning signs should send you to the emergency room versus what can wait — you make better decisions. You advocate for yourself. You catch things early.

This blog is my way of being in your corner between appointments.

What I Write About

Cultivate Health focuses on adult primary care — the health topics that matter most to adults 18 and older. Topics include:

Every article is grounded in current clinical evidence and reviewed for accuracy. I cite my sources and update content when guidelines change.

My Vision for the Future

My goal is to open Cultivate Health as a primary care practice — a clinic designed to feel nothing like a clinic. Think warm wood, comfortable chairs, named rooms instead of numbered ones. A place where you are welcomed like a guest, not processed like a chart. A practice built on genuine relationships, where your provider knows your name, your history, and your goals — not just your chief complaint.

I believe primary care should be personal. I believe your health is worth cultivating.

This blog is how I start building that relationship with you, long before I ever open my doors.
